On March 16, 1910, the Foundation Stone of the Main Building was laid. Since then, the University of Hong Kong has upheld its duty to preserve its architectural heritage for the present, and the future.
The HKU Heritage Fund is established to preserve the seven Declared Monuments on HKU campus: The Main Building, Tang Chi Ngong Building, Hung Hing Ying Building, University Hall, Fung Ping Shan Building, May Hall and Eliot Hall.
With the Fund, HKU will undertake highly specialised works to preserve and promote this legacy, and ensure it will be enjoyed by generations to come.
